Who arranges the logistics of the pigs from the farm to the abattoir?
Trigga Trader will assist. The buyer will advise best suited slaughter day & Trigga will arrange
Can I pay my own slaughter fee or will Trigga?
Trigga may assist in the payment of slaughter fee and add to buyer invoice
How do I book my pigs in for slaughter?
Trigga has contract slaughter accounts with many abattoirs & will assist in booking pigs in for slaughter
How do I get the carcasses to my store?
Trigga will assist in arranging a 3rd party truck to deliver
If the auction runs on a Thursday morning, when can I get pigs I have secured?
The delivery days are generally from the Monday – Friday following the auction. Sometimes a buyer requires the pigs earlier and a request will be made to the farmer
How will I know how to bid?
Trigga Trader will run through each step with you & direct you
How do I know the quality pigs I am getting?
There is a grading matrix on each batch. There are penalties applied to all R, C, U, S pigs & all pigs that do not fall into the listed weight range
What weight am I invoiced on?
The buyer is invoiced on CCM (cold calculated mass)
Who do I pay, the farmer or Trigga?
Trigga manage the book, Trigga will pay the farmer and will raise an invoice to the buyer
When will I know what pigs are available for auction?
Trigga will capture the auction every Wednesday morning for pigs to be auctioned on the Thursday. Trigga will send notification via WhatsApp & email inviting buyers to attend the auction along with the catalogue of the lots available. Once the auction has been captured, the buyers may view on line prior to the auction start
How long does the auction take?
It takes between 60 mins – 90 mins

What forms do I have to complete?
Trigga Trader credit application which will be sent for vetting. If account approved, Trigga Trader will open account and you can start immediately

When does the auction run?
Every Thursday morning at 9:00am
If the auction takes place on Thursday, when are the pigs delivered?
The week following the auction from Sunday – Friday
What is the commission structure?
0% commission charged to farmer
3% commission charged to buyer
Can I view the auction?
Yes, Trigga will create login details which will allow you to view the online auction
Who pays for the transport from the farm to the abattoir?
The farmer funds the transport from the farm to the abattoir. Generally within a 150km radius. If a buyer is further than this distance, the farmer may ask for an additional rate on extra kilometres travelled
What if a buyer wants to collect the pigs from the farm?
The farmer will advise if he/she is comfortable to allow an outsider truck on the farm
Will the buyer get a discount if they collect?
If a buyer collects the pigs, the farmer normally provides a discount ranging from R0,40 – R0,50/kg
Do you only auction pigs?
Currently only pigs, however Trigga will soon be connecting sellers & buyers of all agricultural products
Can I get access to the weekly auction results?
If you provide your cell number, Trigga will send the results to you straight after auction
